What is TTNview?
TTNview is a simple viewer of EXIF information recorded by digital cameras in image files. In this very first release, TTNview will show just what you see on the picture above, i.e.:

  • size of the file in bytes;
  • shutter speed;
  • aperture value, or F-stop;
  • ISO sensivity;
  • White balance settings - currently only for Olympus cameras.

    TTNview can currently navigate directories and open files using their standard Windows associations.

    In future, we plan TTNview to be able to do the following:

  • show various exif information including camera-specific information from various vendors;
  • be modular and extensible: support new cameras and new tags without re-compiling the program;
  • show images and thumbnails;
  • do basic image manipulations: rotate, crop, negative, b/w;
  • remember preferred image position in order to view vertical images as vertical, without modifying the image file;
  • do basic file manipulations: copy, move, delete;

    TTNview is free.

    TTNview is built in accordance with EXIF 2.1, and it will support EXIF 2.2 in its future releases.

    We wrote TTNview for fun. It is a nice programming practice and a lot of pleasure. In addition to its primary goal - show EXIF information - we want to use TTNview as a platform for testing different programming techniques and usability ideas.

    We want to make TTNview the fastest possible image analyzer and we'll optimize any place where we see optimization possible.

    TTNview is also planned to be very usable, though laconic in its GUI. It is going to be simple and understandable. We will develop it in tight conformance with Windows GUI standards and we'll conduct usability tests. The viewer supports and will support mouse users as well as keyboard users.

    Limitations of this version

  • Only JPEG files are currently analyzed;
  • JPEG files not containing EXIF information are currently shown as "unknown" - with the same icon as non-image files;

    Please write to our email about any issue you find. We are particularly interested in

  • crashes;
  • failed exif data recognition or wrong recognition;
  • usability issues.
    Please note that we develop TTNview in our free time. There is no guarantee that a particular issue will be fixed in a given time.
